The British Embassy, Riyadh has a vacancy for a Translator, Grade – A1 (L) position.
Purpose of the job:
We are looking for an energetic translator to work as a Part–Time Translator in the Embassy’s Translation Team. The work mostly involves translation from English into Arabic, with some Arabic to English. The team is at the heart of the Embassy’s work, facilitating the exchange of information and messages between Britain and Saudi Arabia across the full range of bilateral issues.
The job holder will be responsible for ensuring that translations meet the highest standards of accuracy; the right nuance is vital. The material translated ranges widely in subject matter and style, and is commissioned by all sections of the Embassy. You will need to work to a consistent standard under pressure, delivering excellent translations against tight deadlines and building productive relationships with customers and with other team members. The job holder will contribute to maintaining a positive and happy working environment and have a keen focus on learning and development.
Duties and responsibilities:
• To provide timely and accurate translation for all types of documents
• To provide interpretation if/when required
• To be responsible for their own professional development
• To provide support to the Translation Team
• Where necessary, to complete other administrative tasks in support of the team

Working Conditions and Remuneration:
The starting salary will be SAR 3907.74 per month inclusive of the Eid Bonus and the 25% housing allowance. An additional travel allowance of SAR 400 per month will also be payable.
Normal working hours for the Embassy are 08.00 to 15.00 Sunday to Thursday. This position is Part-Time, based on 25 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to a 90 day probationary period.
Eligibility:
The position is only available to holders of Saudi residence permits or transferable Iqamas, and the successful candidate will be required to transfer their sponsorship to us.
